GREG JACKSON
FOUNDER/PRESIDENT

Greg Jackson graduated from the University of Colorado in 1990 with a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Industrial Technology. Greg also is an FAA-Certified A&P mechanic.  Greg has over 20 years of experience providing specialized manufactured systems and engineered solutions to the high vacuum industry. For the last 12 years, Greg has operated a small corporation leading teams for all areas of business operations and sales.  Greg has significant expertise designing complete turnkey systems for the vacuum industries including thin film coatings, space simulation, thermal applications and mechanical motion and manipulation. Greg has developed highly engineered solutions for customers such as NASA, Ball Aerospace, Lockheed Martin and the Department of Defense.  Greg started Kiinja Corporation in 2015 with an idea of making an industry-leading food-grade, high throughput, fully automated supercritical CO2 fluid extraction system.

John MacKay, PhD

John A. MacKay earned a B.A. in Chemistry from St. Lawrence University (SLU), and Ph.D. from the University of Vermont (UVM), in Inorganic Chemistry focused on the synthesis of cancer fighting compounds.  After positions teaching at Davidson College, Lyndon State College and University of Vermont (UVM), John joined Waters Corporation in 1983 and retired in 2017.  His career has included many roles in innovative product development.  While recently he is widely recognized as scientific expert in sub and supercritical fluid for extraction and chromatography in the botanical space, he is bringing the synergy from what were disparate technologies together to optimize workflow.

Synergistic Technologies Associates, LLC will be working with botanical companies to help maximize their total operations based on Six Sigma principles and practices.

With the expertise and desire to spread the science throughout industry, John has taken on roles as contributing journalist and science editor for Terpenes and Testing Magazine.  He has also been appointed the Educator Assistant Professor on the Volunteer Pathway, Department of Pharmacology at the Robert Larner, MD College of Medicines.

Jerry King, PhD

Dr. King has over 50 years of experience in the field of chemistry, chemical engineering and food technology. He has worked in government, industrial, academic and consulting environments. Dr. King has published over 265 documents, including government reports and holds 3 patents. He is world renown for his expertise and contributions to supercritical fluid (CO2) technology in the fields of food, botanical and natural product processing as well as analytical chemistry and materials science (i.e. packaging, coatings, surface modification, CO2-based cleaning processes). Since 2013, Dr. King has had a laser sharp focus on consulting and R&D related to the cannabis industry. He is a recognized expert in the fields of extraction, chemistry and latest CO2 technology and has made numerous presentations at many cannabis/hemp conferences. Dr. King is enthusiastic to offer his tremendous experience to the cannabis and hemp industry.

RAY ROBEY, PHD

A career in problem solving, with process/project development skills gained from the perspectives of both entrepreneurial and Fortune 500 firms. A demonstrated ability to work in diverse industries, to provide the leadership to take technologies from concept through scale-up to commercialization, and to present detailed technical proposals & solutions to non-technical corporate audiences.

Elliot Boyd
Physical Engineer

Elliott Boyd is the owner of New Venture Engineering LLC, a Mechanical Engineering firm that specializes primarily in pressure vessels and piping for various industries.

Before devoting his work fulltime to New Venture Engineering, Elliott worked full-time in industry for 23 years as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in various industries ranging from chemical process and agricultural manufacturing facilities to oil & gas equipment fabrication.  Notable projects include designing and installing an improved furnace seal and over-protection devices for three electric-arc furnaces and currently working on high-pressure extraction systems for botanicals.

Elliott’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wyoming and a Master of Engineering from the University of Idaho.
